No team has been linked to Jalen Ramsey<\/a> more than the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> this offseason. They\u2019ve made their interest in the Miami Dolphins<\/a> cornerback clear and reports suggest they\u2019re a logical landing spot, especially with Ramsey seeking to join a contender.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins are currently looking for a trade partner and though one hasn\u2019t emerged yet, it\u2019s largely because of Ramsey\u2019s contract<\/a>; Miami would benefit greatly financially by waiting to move him until after June 1.<\/p>\n

Quentin Lake has effectively taken Ramsey\u2019s place at the \u201cstar\u201d position in the Rams\u2019 secondary, covering the slot and moving around to find the best matchup defensively. As one of the leaders on defense, Lake would love to see the Rams bring back Ramsey.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would be \u2013 we would be a tough team, especially a tough defense to beat,\u201d Lake said on NFL Network. \u201cHe knows the system, he\u2019s familiar with the organization. Jalen is a God-given talent. Not only is he smart, he\u2019s been in the league a long time playing at such a high level. Anytime you get to bring a guy like that back, he\u2019s only going to add value. He is a star and anybody that you ask, he\u2019s such an amazing player.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ramsey and Lake were both with the Rams in 2022, but Lake was limited to just nine games due to injury as a rookie that year. He played only 63 snaps on defense, so he and Ramsey weren\u2019t on the field much together.<\/p>\n

Still, he thinks highly of Ramsey, believing he\u2019ll be enshrined in Canton at some point down the line.<\/p>\n

\u201cI truly believe he\u2019ll be a Hall of Famer one day, too, just because of not only what he\u2019s done on the field, but you look at how consistent he\u2019s done it year in and year out,\u201d Lake said. \u201cI\u2019ve seen the rumors, I\u2019ve heard the rumors. I don\u2019t necessarily know what\u2019s going to happen but I hope \u2013\u00a0anytime you\u2019ve got a guy like that that can add value to your team, especially with the guys we have already, that\u2019s huge. Hopefully things shake out. Whatever may happen, I know guys are trying to pull strings and stuff like that, but we\u2019ll see \u2013\u00a0hopefully in a couple weeks, or whenever it happens.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to NFL Network\u2019s Cameron Wolfe<\/a>, \u201cnothing is imminent\u201d with regards to a trade involving Ramsey. That could change once the calendar flips to June 1 when the dead cap charge for Miami drops significantly but a trade is unlikely to happen before then.<\/p>\n

If the Rams were to acquire Ramsey, they could deploy him at outside cornerback or in the slot. If he plays outside, it\u2019ll take away snaps from either Ahkello Witherspoon or Darious Williams. If he returns to the slot, Lake could move back to a more traditional safety role.<\/p>\n

Either way, Ramsey would give the Rams another playmaker in the secondary.<\/p>\n
