After a one-year stint with the Chicago Bears<\/a> in 2024, wide receiver Keenan Allen<\/a> returned for his 12th season with the Los Angeles Chargers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old was effective in 2025, appearing in all 17 games and making three starts. Allen racked up 81 receptions<\/a> for 777 yards and four touchdowns on 122 targets.<\/p>\n

However, he’s set to hit free agency on March 11 with an expiring contract. While a return to the Chargers is possible, Allen told<\/a> The California Post, \u201cI don\u2019t know what I\u2019m going to be doing this year. Options are still open.\u201d The door is open for the wide receiver to find a new home or even retire.<\/p>\n

With his future with the team uncertain, CBS Sports’ John Breech lists<\/a> the Chargers as a potential landing spot for former Miami Dolphins<\/a> wide receiver Tyreek Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“With\u00a0Keenan Allen\u00a0set to hit free agency, the Chargers could bring in another aging veteran in Hill to take his place,” Breech wrote. “And Hill’s former head coach in Miami, Mike McDaniel, is now the offensive coordinator.”<\/p>\n

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowler, appeared in just four games last season before tearing his ACL. However, he still hauled in 21 receptions<\/a> for 265 yards and one touchdown. His last fully healthy season in 2024 was solid with 81 receptions, 959 yards and six touchdowns.<\/p>\n

His past production makes him one of the top options for teams in need of wide receiver help. However, the Chargers would likely need to spend more on Hill than on Allen. Allen’s market value projects him earning a contract worth just $6.8 million annually, per Spotrac<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles will be able to afford whatever Hill is asking for, though. The Chargers are set to enter the new league year with $81.1 million<\/a> in available cap space.<\/p>\n
