Zak Koeppel of NFL.com<\/a> put together a 2026 offseason resources rankings, comparing how all 32 teams, including the Indianapolis Colts<\/a>, stack up in terms of salary cap and draft capital.<\/p>\n

The Colts<\/a> find themselves near the bottom of these rankings, coming in at 24th. From a salary cap standpoint, the Colts rank well, coming in at 13th. However, they are 30th in the draft capital category.<\/p>\n

With $35.71 million in available cap space, the 13th most in football, according to Over the Cap<\/a>.<\/p>\n

GM Chris Ballard is positioned well to again be aggressive this offseason, which it sounds like is the plan<\/a>. The Colts also have the ability to create more room<\/a> as well.<\/p>\n

In terms of draft capital, the Colts are without their first-round pick in 2026 — and in 2027 — after trading for Sauce Gardner at the deadline.<\/p>\n

Beyond not having that selection, the Colts currently have just five picks in total, although they’re projected to land two additional late-round compensatory selections<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Not having a first-round pick puts a premium on Ballard being able to hit on his Day 2 picks in order to find some immediate help for the Colts. However, some of the big needs that the Colts have on their roster can likely be addressed in free agency, given their cap situation.<\/p>\n
