They asked if Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who recently won an MVP at the 2026 NFL Honors, had earned SoFi Stadium\u2019s first statue. Kroenke replied, \u201cWell, we\u2019ll see. This guy\u2019s something, isn\u2019t he? Let\u2019s go win one next year!\u201d Rams Wire translated it to: Not yet.The outlet then contacted former Rams star Todd Gurley to discuss the same topic. He has a Super Bowl.\u201dTodd Gurley: \u201cI think someone told me this: since they share the stadium with the [Los Angeles] Chargers, if they build a statue of anyone or they put them in the stadium, the Chargers have that same right to do that for their player as well, so I don\u2019t think they kinda wanna do that.\u201dStaff: \u201cAlso, there\u2019s some politics behind that statue?\u201dGurley: \u201cFrom my understanding, yes. So that\u2019s the thing. Statues at the stadium are reserved for legends. NFL Network\u2019s Adam Rank picked Aaron Donald as a deserving candidate for SoFi Stadium. His reasons? The three-time Defensive Player of the Year was a major reason the Rams won a Super Bowl after returning to Los Angeles. Aaron was one of the best at his position, perhaps of all time, during his 10-year career.
