The Pro Football Hall of Famer took to X over the weekend to remember his late father, Emmitt Smith Jr., who died on Valentine\u2019s Day in 2023.<\/p>\n

Happy Valentine\u2019s Day Pop,\u201d Emmitt Smith said<\/a>.<\/p>\n The post received 42,000 likes and more than 1,500 replies as of Tuesday morning as fans sent their condolences to Smith.<\/p>\n \u201cHonoring a father on the day he went home to heaven says so much about love that never fades,\u201d one fan said<\/a>. \u201cPraying for comfort and peace as those memories resurface today. May God be with you and your family.\u201d<\/p>\n Emmitt Smith, the NFL\u2019s all-time leading rusher, won three Super Bowls during his time with the Cowboys<\/a>.
