These days, we can gamble on everything. Long gone are the times when we were restricted to placing wagers on whether the Philadelphia Eagles might win or lose. Now, there are point spreads. anytime touchdown scorers, and, of course, possible destinations for A.J. Brown if traded.

If you’re sick of the discussion, you’re not alone. One can tire of arguing over dead-cap money and how much would sit on the books if the Eagles were to move on. That alone makes us think of an old R&B song, “It’s Cheaper to Keep Her”-or, in this case, it’s cheaper to keep him. Besides, if there’s any chance of salvaging this relationship and keeping one of the best wide receivers on staff, that’s motivation to begin a conversation.

It’s hard to move off something sometimes, though, if the national media keeps bringing it up. Last week, Adam Schefter stated on a Philadelphia sports station that a possible A.J. Brown trade is up in the air, but he’d lean towards his exit. This week, he is changing his tune.

Derrick Gunn joined 97.5 The Fanatic’s Kincade & Salciunas this week. He informed the listening public that he’s hearing the plans are to keep Brown around. ESPN’s top NFL insider and regular guest on the program, Adam Schefter, is still on the fence but is now leaning toward A.J. Brown staying put in Philadelphia.

Rumors have a shelf life, but some refuse to expire. The ones involving the Philadelphia Eagles and A.J. Brown have lingered long enough to take on a life of their own. We remain in the speculation sphere, but a new league year approaches. We won’t have to wait for the truth for much longer.
