{"id":761487,"date":"2026-02-19T02:20:16","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T02:20:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/761487\/"},"modified":"2026-02-19T02:20:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-19T02:20:16","slug":"eagles-assistant-linebackers-coach-joins-the-raiders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/761487\/","title":{"rendered":"Eagles assistant linebackers coach joins the Raiders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Philadelphia Eagles assistant linebackers\/defensive quality control coach Ronell Williams is not returning for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Raiders\/status\/2024299143842103480?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Las Vegas Raiders officially announced;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Las Vegas Raiders officially announced<\/a> they\u2019re hiring the Chester, Pennsylvania native as their new linebackers coach.<\/p>\n<p>Advertisement<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bleedinggreennation.com\/news\/169516\/at-least-one-eagles-assistant-might-follow-christian-parker-to-the-cowboys\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Williams previously interviewed;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Williams previously interviewed<\/a> for a position on the Dallas Cowboys\u2019 new defensive staff under former Eagles assistant Christian Parker earlier this offseason.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Raiders\u2019 interest in Williams might have something to do with them employing multiple former Eagles front office members; both Brandon Hunt and Anthony Patch overlapped with Williams in Philly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The Raiders were also likely interested in the Eagles\u2019 recent success at the linebackers position. Zack Baun was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2024 and he made the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons. Nakobe Dean, who is a free agent and could conceivably sign with the Raiders, has obviously played at a high level when healthy. 2025 first-round pick Jihaad Campbell showed promise as a rookie and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. has looked good in limited opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It\u2019s not perfectly clear if Williams\u2019 contract expired or if he was poached away from the Eagles. Either way, Philly will seemingly be looking for a new assistant linebackers coach to help Bobby King.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Williams joins the aforementioned Parker and Tyler Yelk as defensive coaches that left the Eagles this offseason.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Philadelphia Eagles assistant linebackers\/defensive quality control coach Ronell Williams is not returning for the 2026 season.
