The Miami Dolphins didn\u2019t have the type of season they were hoping to have in 2025. A whole lot went wrong for the team in aqua and orange from South Florida \u2014 as evidenced by the firing of general manager Chris Grier, the firing of head coach Mike McDaniel, and the benching of starting quarterback, former #5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Tua Tagovailoa.<\/p>\n
But it wasn\u2019t all doom and gloom for your 2025 Miami Dolphins. There were some silver linings to be found if you looked hard enough.<\/p>\n
One of those silver linings came in the form of second-year left tackle, Patrick Paul. Paul \u2014 a second round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft \u2014 came into the National Football League with plenty to work on despite his lengthy college career at Houston. After sitting behind, and learning from, veteran tackle Terron Armstead for a season, Paul took over the left tackle position in 2025.<\/p>\n
Paul\u2019s play was a revelation for a team that struggled in many areas.<\/p>\n
According to a recent social media post from Daniel Rotman \u2014 founder of the ScoutD draft analysis website \u2014 Paul allowed a 4.33% pressure rate from the left tackle position in 2025. Only three left tackles posted a lower number \u2014 Laremy Tunsil of the Washington Commanders, Andrew Thomas of the New York Giants, and Garrett Bolles of the Denver Broncos.<\/p>\n
Paul\u2019s numbers were better than players like Jordan Mailata of the Philadelphia Eagles, Tristan Wirfs of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dion Dawkins of the Buffalo Bills, just to name a few.<\/p>\n
While Miami\u2019s new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has plenty of work to do to fills holes within the Miami Dolphins roster, he can rest assured that the left tackle position manned by the 24-year-old Paul is a position that is secure for many years to come, as Paul will only continue to ascend as he gains more experience in the National Football League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Miami Dolphins didn\u2019t have the type of season they were hoping to have in 2025.
