Williams previously interviewed<\/a> for a position on the Dallas Cowboys\u2019 new defensive staff under former Eagles assistant Christian Parker earlier this offseason.<\/p>\nThe Raiders\u2019 interest in Williams might have something to do with them employing multiple former Eagles front office members; both Brandon Hunt and Anthony Patch overlapped with Williams in Philly.<\/p>\n
The Raiders were also likely interested in the Eagles\u2019 recent success at the linebackers position. Zack Baun was a first-team All-Pro selection in 2024 and he made the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons. Nakobe Dean, who is a free agent and could conceivably sign with the Raiders, has obviously played at a high level when healthy. 2025 first-round pick Jihaad Campbell showed promise as a rookie and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. has looked good in limited opportunities.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not perfectly clear if Williams\u2019 contract expired or if he was poached away from the Eagles. Either way, Philly will seemingly be looking for a new assistant linebackers coach to help Bobby King.<\/p>\n
