Matthew Stafford is a Los Angeles Rams hero.<\/p>\n

Since joining Los Angeles<\/a> in 2021, Stafford has won one Super Bowl<\/a> and led the Rams to three consecutive playoff appearances.<\/p>\n

Despite retirement fears entering 2025<\/a>, the 37-year-old was on another level, throwing for 4,707 yards with 46 touchdowns en route to winning the MVP award over New England Patriots QB Drake Maye<\/a>.<\/p>\n

LA fell just short of the Super Bowl, beaten by the eventual Super Bowl LX champion Seattle Seahawks<\/a> in a tightly contested NFC Championship game.<\/p>\n

Stafford is ageing like a fine wine, but has he done enough to be immortalized into Rams history outside Sofi Stadium?<\/p>\n

Before Super Bowl LX, TMZ sports spoke with Rams owner Stan Kroenke<\/a>, and asked him whether Stafford was worthy of a statue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, we\u2019ll see. This guy\u2019s something, isn\u2019t he? Let\u2019s go win one next year!” Kroenke replied.<\/p>\n

Rams fans inferred this as he hasn’t done enough just yet to be worthy of the honor, and former Rams running back Todd Gurley added another layer of complexity to the issue.<\/p>\n

Specifically, inner-city rivals, the Chargers.<\/p>\n

“Since they share the stadium with the Chargers, if they build a statue of anyone, or they like put them in the stadium, the Chargers have that same right to do that for their player as well,” Gurley told TMZ Sports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“So I don’t think they kinda wanna do that.”<\/p>\n

“Maybe Stafford statue outside of the Rams facility, cause you know, Kroenke’s a big real estate guy too.<\/p>\n

“They have the new facility down there in Woodland Hills, and they are about to build up everything.”<\/p>\n

Despite falling short of the Super Bowl, the Rams enjoyed a successful offensive season in 2025.<\/p>\n

Stafford led all quarterbacks in passing yards and passing touchdowns, Puka Nacua<\/a> led all receivers in receptions and finished second in yards, and Davante Adams<\/a> finished No. 1 in touchdown passes.<\/p>\n

The Rams’ top offensive players were also leaders in Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades by the end of the season.<\/p>\n

Stafford finished 0.01 points higher than Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> QB Joe Burrow<\/a>, and Nacua finished 2.9 points higher than Jaxon Smith-Njigba.<\/p>\n

As if winning your first MVP wasn’t enough, Stafford’s Hall-of-Fame stock has risen dramatically since joining the Rams.<\/p>\n

A new ranking of the top 99 quarterbacks in NFL history by Bleacher Report<\/a> had Stafford at No.20.<\/p>\n
