One of the Indianapolis Colts’<\/a> defensive coaches will reportedly be joining the Arizona Cardinals<\/a> coaching staff.<\/p>\n

According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports<\/a>, Arizona is “expected” to hire Colts<\/a>‘ defensive quality control coach Brent Jackson in an assistant defensive backs coach type of role.<\/p>\n

Jackson has been with the Colts for the last four seasons. Before that, he coached at the college level, which included being on staff at Oregon and Auburn.<\/p>\n

It was also reported recently that Shane Steichen made two additions<\/a> to the defensive coaching staff, hiring Jeremy Bruce and Dillon Doyle as defensive quality control coaches — the same role that Jackson filled.<\/p>\n

Perhaps these additions were made in anticipation of Jackson earning an elevated opportunity elsewhere.<\/p>\n

The Colts’ defense in 2025\u00a0ranked 21st<\/a>\u00a0in scoring and 23rd in yards per game surrendered, particularly struggling down the stretch of the season.<\/p>\n

Addressing the defense<\/a>\u00a0this offseason will seemingly be a top priority for GM Chris Ballard.<\/p>\n
