James Casey<\/a> is entering his eighth year as the Bengals\u2019 tight ends coach. Cincinnati OC Dan Pitcher called Casey the \u201cultimate team player\u201d and a great asset to their coaching staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ultimate team player who you would never know had a playing career \u2026 from a work ethic and just a willingness to do all the dirty work. All the things that are not glamour and garner the attention or credit. That\u2019s just who James is. That\u2019s why he\u2019s a great asset for,\u201d\u00a0Pitcher said, via Geoff Hobson of the team\u2019s site<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pitcher said Casey is a major part of how their offensive staff collaborates and works together.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a really good flow here of how we work together as a staff,\u201d Pitcher said. \u201cWe have great continuity, and everybody has their role and their input. James is a critical part of that. He\u2019s got a lot of really good thoughts and ideas from a scheme standpoint that we\u2019ve already incorporated, and we\u2019ll continue to incorporate into what we do. I\u2019m going to go to him just like I always have.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pitcher mentioned that Casey takes a technical approach with players and is successfully able to translate all the research he\u2019s done.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s one of the most researched coaches that I\u2019ve been around in terms of the opinions that he has and the techniques that he teaches his players,\u201d Pitcher said. \u201cHe\u2019s not just throwing stuff against the wall. From the technical instruction of the tight end to scheme ideas in terms of what we do in the run game, protection, whatever it is, it\u2019s all because he\u2019s seen it. He\u2019s done the research. He\u2019s watched it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ravens recently promoted assistant STs coach Anthony Levine<\/a> to be their new special teams coordinator. Minter pictures Levine as \u201cthe face\u201d of their special teams unit: \u201cI picture him as the face of Ravens special teams. He\u2019s earned that position.\u201d (Jamison Hensley<\/a>)
\nBaltimore\u2019s new OC Declan Doyle said he spoke to QB Lamar Jackson<\/a> during the interview process and the quarterback indicated an eagerness grow:\u00a0\u201cVery excited about the caliber of player he is.. [Jackson has a] willingness to listen and a hunger to grow.\u201d\u00a0(Hensley<\/a>)
\nDoyle is set to call plays for the first time in his career after being a \u201ccommunicator and collaborator\u201d as the Bears\u2019 offensive coordinator under Ben Johnson. Doyle understands he has new duties in Baltimore: \u201cIt\u2019s a very different job. My job in Chicago was to support Ben. I was a communicator and collaborator. This is a different role. I am the one stamping it.\u201d\u00a0(Hensley<\/a>)
\nRavens DC Anthony Weaver<\/a> thinks they have enough capable edge rushers to be successful: \u201cWe certainly have rushers. From a talent standpoint, we have dudes who can get there.\u201d\u00a0(Hensley<\/a>)
\nBaltimore also hired Rick Minter as a football analyst. Jesse Minter said having his father on their staff brings an honest voice to the organization: \u201cIt was probably the easiest hire\u2026 Someone who will always tell you the truth and doesn\u2019t have an agenda.\u201d\u00a0(Hensley<\/a>)<\/p>\n
