For the 31 teams that don’t win the Super Bowl<\/a>, the NFL<\/a> offseason is the greatest period of hope that fans can possibly have. But for Colin Cowherd<\/a>, there’s one team right now that seems to have no hope regardless of how the 2026 offseason plays out.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday’s edition of The Herd, Cowherd asserted that the New York Jets<\/a> look completely hopeless to him right now. He cited the recent rumor that Jets owner Woody Johnson has been meddling in head coach Aaron Glenn’s coaching staff decisions and believes it’s a sign that they are doomed for more failure in 2026.<\/p>\n

“I do not remember an NFL team going into the season with less hope. Coach: F, quarterback situation: D-\/F, ownership: brutal,” Cowherd said.<\/p>\n

Hopeless and Getting Worse<\/p>\n

The Jets were tied for the worst record in 2025 after going 3-14 overall but won’t even get the benefit of the No. 1 overall pick or a quarterback worth taking with their No. 2 overall pick. They’ll most likely be forced to take a defensive player in the draft and be in exactly the same place next year.<\/p>\n

Head coach Aaron Glenn is basically a lame duck at head coach despite being in only his second year at the helm. Meanwhile, nobody seems to know what the future has in store for general manager Darren Mougey.<\/p>\n

As Cowherd said, the Jets’ quarterback situation is atrocious with neither Justin Fields nor Tyrod Taylor being long-term or even short-term answers for the team’s decade-long QB struggles.<\/p>\n

While the Jets have no shortage of cap space, there’s nobody worth spending it on and even fewer players who would want to risk their careers on a team with absolutely no prospects of making the playoffs in 2026.<\/p>\n

There’s at least some reason for optimism in every other team that ranks near the bottom of the league.<\/p>\n

The Raiders have a new head coach and will have a rookie QB in Fernando Mendoza next year.<\/p>\n

The Titans have a new head coach and a young QB in Cam Ward worth developing<\/p>\n

The Browns have a new head coach and a QB worth looking at in Shedeur Sanders<\/a><\/p>\n

The Cardinals have a new head coach and plenty of talent<\/p>\n

The Giants have a new head coach and some young players who could make a leap<\/p>\n

The Jets head into 2026 with a head coach that everyone knows will be fired either midseason or at the end of the season, and might be in the exact same place next year.<\/p>\n

There’s truly no hope for that team being relevant this coming season.<\/p>\n
