Players who could be underpriced \u2014 NAKOBE DEAN: The former third-round pick owns the type of athleticism and playmaking that could get him paid this offseason. In four seasons in Philly, the off-ball linebacker proved he could get after the quarterback (7.5 sacks) and patrol the middle of the field. However, an extensive injury history could curtail his payday. The defender hasn\u2019t played a full slate since 2017, missing 21 missed regular-season games over the past three seasons alone, and was out for most of Philly\u2019s Super Bowl run in 2024. Teams generally shy away from spending big on players with long-term durability questions, which could put Dean on a short-term prove-it path.<\/p>\n
This is the modern NFL! Run the ball and use play-action. You can\u2019t just drop back 30+ times a game in the modern NFL and expect to just win. Defenses are too smart. There\u2019s a reason a lot of the best offenses use a lot of play-action. The Eagles need to join these top offenses and tie the run game to the pass game. Mannion has had a lot of experience in offenses that do this, so I hope he can bring this approach to Philly.<\/p>\n
We are fully into the 2026 NFL offseason and there are a lot of things that we have to sort relative to the NFC East. A lot has happened, even more questions remain, and John Harbaugh is here now! Jeremy Fowler\u2019s offer \u2014 Eagles get: 2026 first-round pick (No. 24), Browns get: Brown. Why this deal makes sense: The Browns have two first-round picks (Nos. 6 and 24) after the Travis Hunter trade in April 2025. They could use No. 6 on an offensive lineman and send No. 24 to the Eagles in exchange for Brown. This would immediately upgrade new head coach Todd Monken\u2019s offense, giving the passing game a fighting chance alongside an already stout defense. Cleveland\u2019s WR room totaled just 1,467 receiving yards in 2025, worst in the NFL. Browns general manager Andrew Berry is an ex-Eagles exec who has a rapport with Roseman. Cleveland has a penchant for the splash receiver trade, acquiring Odell Beckham Jr., Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy during Berry\u2019s tenure. All three players posted 1,000-yard seasons in Year 1 with the Browns.<\/p>\n
Safety: Malcolm Jenkins. There were other safeties available in 2014 who would have been more popular picks than Jenkins but Roseman nailed this one. The Eagles signed Jenkins to a 3-year, $15 1\/2 million deal after he spent the first five years of his career in New Orleans. Jenkins was just inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame this past season. Jenkins spent six seasons with the Eagles and made three Pro Bowl teams. He was the defensive leader of the Super Bowl LII team and an iron man of those Jim Schwartz defenses.<\/p>\n
During his playing days, Reggie White had a profound, physical impact on opposing offenses. White is No. 2 on the NFL\u2019s all-time sack list with 198 career sacks to go along with 1,048 career tackles, 33 forced fumbles, and a Super Bowl Ring. He was a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year. On the field, White truly lived up to his nickname as the \u201cMinister of Defense,\u201d and fans, especially in Philadelphia, still marvel to this day about his ability to wreak havoc and \u201cprey\u201d upon opposing quarterbacks and running backs. His son, Jeremy White, likes to brag about the franchise-record 21 sacks that his father got in 12 games back in the strike-shortened season of 1987. \u201cEverybody likes to say the LT (Lawrence Taylor) was the best,\u201d Jeremy White said proudly of his father. \u201cMy dad is the only player to have 21 sacks in 12 games.\u201d<\/p>\n
Why the Raiders are interested: Williams also interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys this offseason, so he appears to be an up-and-coming position coach in the NFL. Also, he has a couple of years of experience working with former Bears and current Eagles\u2019 defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who is widely considered one of the best defensive play-callers in the league. Additionally, the Raiders need linebacker help and Williams could help lure Nakobe Dean in free agency, since they spent the last two seasons together in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
Confidence: Despite being only 34 years old, Parker showed no hesitation regarding his jump to the coordinator role. When questioned about his age and readiness, he was direct about his confidence being rooted in his work ethic. \u201cI am ready. Confidence comes from preparation,\u201d he told reporters. His poise throughout the session suggested a coach who has been preparing for this specific moment for a long time. The introduction of Parker marks a sophisticated shift for the Cowboys\u2019 defense. Between the transition to multiple fronts and the heavy emphasis on individual player growth, the foundations are being laid for a disciplined and deceptive unit. Fans should be optimistic about the energy and intelligence Parker brings to the sideline.<\/p>\n
First, let me start out by saying that although we may not have \u201cideal\u201d personnel for the 3-4 at the moment, we still have free agency and the draft to add pieces if that\u2019s the direction Jones chooses to go. Now that that\u2019s out of the way, let\u2019s look at the pieces we do have, and project how they could best fit into a new scheme.<\/p>\n
Cut LB Bobby Okereke. [\u2026] This one feels like a no-brainer. Okereke\u2019s 2023 season, his first with the Giants, was the best of his seven-year career. The farther we get away from it, the more it feels like an outlier. Saving the $9 million and getting younger and more athletic at a position that has always been critical to Harbaugh-coached teams seems like an easy call. Nakobe Dean, anyone?<\/p>\n
The first Sunday without football was terrible. It is horrible to realize that this is our reality for the foreseeable future, but thankfully the NFL has established an offseason that feels like a season in many respects. Soon enough it will be NFL Combine time; there is actually less than a month to go until free agency starts\u2026 everything is about perspective. As we begin to look toward 2026 for all 32 teams with the Super Bowl now behind us we can do so through the unique lens that only Michael Peterson and RJ Ochoa can provide. That\u2019s us.
