Andy Reid is talking with Travis Kelce about a 2026 return.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With the future Hall of Famer mulling retirement<\/a>, Reid suggested Friday that there\u2019s at least mutual interest between the two sides.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is communication,\u201d Reid said of Kelce during a press conference. \u201cThat\u2019s the main thing. I\u2019ve said this before: As long as there\u2019s communication, I\u2019m good. That means people want to move forward. I think that\u2019s where Travis is.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the regular season, Kelce wasn\u2019t ready to say<\/a> whether he\u2019d come back for a 14th NFL season, saying on his \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast that he would take some time to be a \u201cregular human,\u201d which is something Reid said he welcomes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not trying to put words in his mouth at all, and I try to give him some space here,\u201d Reid said. \u201cHe\u2019s been doing this a long time, and he can sort all that out as he goes forward. But we\u2019re proceeding with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January, Kelce appeared to suggest that he would be back<\/a> with the Chiefs when discussing the re-hiring of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who was the Chiefs\u2019 OC from 2018 through 2022 and then left to take the same role with the Commanders in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI can\u2019t wait to see him back in the building, man,\u201d Kelce said. \u201cHe\u2019s one of my favorite coaches of all-time, one of my favorite people of all time. I\u2019ve had so many unbelievable growing moments under him as a player, as a person, and I just love the guy. And it\u2019s gonna be awesome to see him back in the building and see him back wearing the Chiefs logo, baby.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

During Super Bowl week, The Athletic\u2019s Dianna Russini reported<\/a> that many people close to Kelce who believe he will play at least one more season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kelce, 36, was solid last season despite a disappointing Chiefs campaign, racking up 851 yards and five touchdowns.<\/p>\n
