The Dallas Cowboys<\/a> made another offseason move after missing the NFL playoffs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Team reporter Patrik Walker posted that linebacker Logan Wilson has been waived. Now, this move will benefit the Cowboys in salary cap space, with a saving of $6.5M.<\/p>\n

Wilson arrived in Dallas last November after a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a>. The Bengals selected him 65th overall in the 2020 draft, and he grew into a key defender. He posted four straight 100-tackle seasons from 2021 through 2024 and totaled 11 career interceptions.<\/p>\n

In 2025, his role shifted. Cincinnati moved toward younger players, and Wilson later joined Dallas. Across 15 games with both teams, he recorded 70 tackles and five passes defensed.<\/p>\n

Dallas finished 7-9-1 and second in the NFC East. The offense ranked seventh in scoring at 27.7 points per game. Dak Prescott<\/a> threw for 4,552 yards and 30 touchdowns, while the ground game and passing attack both ranked in the top 10.<\/p>\n

Defense told a different story. The Cowboys allowed 30.1 points per game, which ranked last in the league. Close losses and late breakdowns became their major hurdles this season.<\/p>\n

The Cowboys recently hired Christian Parker as defensive coordinator and reshaped their defensive staff. They are also looking to give the franchise tag to George Pickens.<\/p>\n

“I think it must be done,” Prescott said<\/a> about retaining Pickens. “I think obviously from Jerry to everybody down understands that, and one the impact on this offense and the team and the great player that he is. We’ve got to find a way to keep him here.”<\/p>\n

Wilson leaves Dallas and has 565 career tackles and 11 interceptions over six seasons. The Cowboys now turn toward free agency and the draft, aiming to rebuild a defense that struggled to close games.<\/p>\n
