But what about his team? His head coach? Andy Reid brushed it off, saying, \u201cYeah, we go through everything and everybody. That\u2019s how [general manager] Brett [Veach] does it. And I don\u2019t even know if Tyreek [Hill] is healthy right now to do anything. I\u2019m sure he\u2019s working hard on that part of it and trying to get that all straightened out. But yeah, we talk about everything, so it\u2019s not, there\u2019s nothing happening there. But we know what you know that he\u2019s out there cranking away trying to get himself back to where he can play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Will Tyreek Hill return to the Kansas City Chiefs? Andy Reid gives a mixed response<\/p>\n

Reid\u2019s response revealed two things: he is in the dark about Hill\u2019s knee injury recovery timeline, and the decision to bring him back entirely rests on GM Brett Veach. Yet his words carried a secret message for Cheetah: \u201cWe know he\u2019s out there cranking away trying to get himself back to where he can play.\u201d Could Hill be the Chiefs\u2019 secret weapon, waiting in the dark all offseason for a dramatic return as the 2026 season kicks off? The timing seems perfect, with his recovery probably wrapping up by the start of 2026. If his Instagram bombshell, \u201cthe cheetah will be back,\u201d is any signal, nothing will keep him from rejoining his parent team that hard-launched his NFL journey: the very dear, Kansas City Chiefs.For now, the Chiefs have a lot to address. Talking about the ninth overall pick, Reid told reporters, \u201cNobody wants to be picking at ninth, but we are, that\u2019s the reality. So, you dig in, put a plan together, and go for it. [Veach has] his guys in here, and they\u2019ve done a couple of lockdowns where he\u2019s had them in for weeks. They live in that room and go through all these players. Good things normally come out of those meetings, and I look forward to how the draft goes.\u201dIf there is someone better than Hill, maybe Reid would go for him. But as NFL Insider Adam Schefter said a few days ago, \u201cWith this free agent class, in the eyes of some, considered to be a little bit subpar, and with this [2026 NFL] Draft class, in the eyes of some, considered to be a little subpar, it wouldn\u2019t surprise me if we saw an uptick in trade activity.\u201d So, there is still some chance for our Cheetah.
