This year’s wide receiver class is deep and talented; the Browns should take more than one, just like they did with running back last year.

Washington’s Denzel Boston is an intriguing prospect with a skillset that the Browns do not have in their wide receiver room, except for Cedric Tillman, who has struggled to stay healthy and produce. Let’s get into Boston’s strengths, weaknesses, and grade.

2025 Stats (12 Games):

62 receptions, 881 yards (14.2 per catch), and 11 touchdowns.

Strengths:

Ball Tracking and Contested Catches

Denzel Boston has a unique blend of size and speed; his size and frame stick out immediately on film at 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds. He surprises some defenders with his first-step quickness and overall speed for someone of his size, creating mismatches for defenses.

Boston does a great job tracking the ball in the air and has good body control to adjust to it and make difficult catches. He’s an above-average route runner who changes direction surprisingly well, which can cause defenders to lose him in coverage. His size and physicality make him a good run blocker and help him excel in contested-catch situations.

Weaknesses/Areas of Concern:

Sometimes Struggles to Separate

Boston has good speed, which is surprising for someone of his size, but he doesn’t have elite top speed to outrun quicker defensive backs. Because of his limited top speed, he can be a bit inconsistent as a separator, though his physicality and contested-catch ability help him overcome those issues most of the time.

Boston also has a limited route tree. He’s a good route runner, but they didn’t ask him to run many different routes in college. This is something he can learn from solid coaching, but there will be a bit of a learning curve for him to get the diverse route tree he needs.

Grade: 2nd Round

This article originally appeared on Browns Wire: Denzel Boston Draft Profile

If Todd Monken is going to fix the Cleveland Browns’ offense and turn them into a playoff contender,…

[2054
86,7469,85,54,2337,32198,7,6,582,23813
0":"post-767109","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-cleveland-browns","8":"tag-browns","9":"tag-cedric-tillman","10":"tag-cleveland","11":"tag-cleveland-browns","12":"tag-clevelandbrowns","13":"tag-denzel-boston","14":"tag-football","15":"tag-nfl","16":"tag-the-browns","17":"tag-todd-monken
["GET
