{"id":767362,"date":"2026-02-21T19:31:37","date_gmt":"2026-02-21T19:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/767362\/"},"modified":"2026-02-21T19:31:37","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T19:31:37","slug":"rams-promoting-nate-scheelhaase-to-offensive-coordinator","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/767362\/","title":{"rendered":"Rams promoting Nate Scheelhaase to offensive coordinator"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nate Scheelhaase&#8217;s third season in the NFL coaching ranks will be as the Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator.<\/p>\n<p>A rising star in league circles, the 35-year-old Scheelhaase is being promoted from L.A.&#8217;s pass game coordinator to its new OC, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Scheelhaase succeeds Mike LaFleur, who was <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nfl.com\/news\/cardinals-plan-to-hire-rams-offensive-coordinator-mike-lafleur-as-new-head-coach\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">hired<\/a> as the Arizona Cardinals head coach after three years as L.A.&#8217;s offensive coordinator under head coach Sean McVay. LaFleur and Scheelhaase aided in the Rams&#8217; run to the NFC Championship Game, and the latter will be looked upon to maintain an offense that was No. 1 overall in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>Should Scheelhaase find success in the role, just how long he sticks around could come into question. He garnered interviews for the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and Las Vegas Raiders HC vacancies this hiring cycle.<\/p>\n<p>Scheelhaase was hugely impressive in interviews, NFL Media draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah reported, per a source, on the  <a class=\"nfl-o-cta--link nfl-o-cta--underline\" style=\"word-break: break-word\" href=\"https:\/\/link.podtrac.com\/40s-and-free-agents\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#8220;40s and Free Agents&#8221;<\/a> podcast.
