{"id":767836,"date":"2026-02-22T01:27:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T01:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/767836\/"},"modified":"2026-02-22T01:27:22","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T01:27:22","slug":"breece-hall-gets-candid-about-mindset-on-murky-jets-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/767836\/","title":{"rendered":"Breece Hall gets candid about mindset on murky Jets future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jets fans might want to cover their ears.<\/p>\n<p>When Breece Hall was asked on Saturday whether he feels good about remaining with the Jets for the long term, the 24-year-old gave a rather ominous answer, saying that \u201cwhatever happens, happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know, I don\u2019t know,\u201d Hall told The Post\u2019s Erich Richter on Saturday during a trading card event at Long Island Sports Cards. \u201cI\u2019ve addressed this for the last six, seven months now. But now I\u2019m just kind of like whatever happens, happens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hall said it was also nice to interact with Jets fans during Saturday\u2019s event hosted in Albertson after having a low-key offseason thus far.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was good,\u201d Hall said of seeing supporters. \u201cIn the offseason, I\u2019ve been keeping a low profile. So it was good to get around some fans and get some love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hall had a career-best season in 2025, rushing for over 1,000 yards (1065 yards on 243 carries) for the first time in his career and notching 57 first downs and scoring four touchdowns.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Hall\u2019s future with the Jets is up in the air, with the running back expected to hit free agency in March.<\/p>\n<p>With that in mind, Hall also said he is confident that he\u2019ll \u201cget everything that\u2019s coming\u201d to him.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.49926794;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"38565619\" width=\"885\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/breece-hall-20-new-york-117964340.jpg\" alt=\"Breece Hall of the New York Jets in his uniform, reacting after an injury.\" class=\"wp-image-38565619\"  \/>Breece Hall reacts after an apparent injury during the fourth quarter of the Jets\u2019 loss to the Patriots at MetLife Stadium on Dec. 28, 2025. Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just where my feet are, and letting God and my agent handle everything else,\u201d he said. \u201cI feel like my play speaks for itself, considering the situations I\u2019ve been in the last few years. I\u2019m going to get everything that\u2019s coming to me, so I\u2019m not too worried about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Jets have the opportunity to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/02\/16\/sports\/jets-can-begin-answering-their-enormous-breece-hall-question-soon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">apply the franchise tag on Hall<\/a>, with the expected cost for running backs in 2026 at $14.5 million, and the deadline to apply the tag is March 3.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGet the insider\u2019s view on Gang Green\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-module__cta\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSign up for Inside the Jets by Brian Costello, a weekly Sports+ exclusive.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\tThank you\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>As the deadline approaches, Jets general manager Darren Mougey has yet to reveal whether the team is willing to use the franchise or transition tag to keep Hall, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/01\/06\/sports\/where-jets-stand-on-breece-halls-free-agency-defensive-coordinator-search\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">but admitted in January<\/a> that he is a good player, and that management wants to keep as many good players as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBreece is a good player,\u201d Mougey said then. \u201cI want as many good players back as we can.
