Former Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles receiver Torrey Smith is not afraid to speak his mind on social media, and that can ruffle feathers from time-to-time.<\/p>\n
Saturday was one of those times for Smith.<\/p>\n
He shared a clip of Vice President JD Vance on X saying, \u201cIf we\u2019re trying to find a sex offender, tell us where the guy lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
Smith then took an obvious dig at President Donald Trump by sharing a GIF of the White House along with that. <\/p>\n
Some folks were not happy about it. <\/p>\n
\u201cGive it up dude,\u201d CJ Keenan replied on X. \u201cThere\u2019s no evidence proving it. All the victims have stated that the guy you\u2019re ACCUSING never seen him do anything inappropriate or nothing at all. Sit down and stick to football.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cProvide one piece of evidence Torrey,\u201d the Middle Right account replied. <\/p>\n
A user called \u201cBrandon\u201d replied to both of those posts by asking Grok \u2014 Twitter\u2019s AI bot \u2014 if Trump had been found liable by a jury in civil court for sexual assault.<\/p>\n
Grok replied, \u201cYes, in the May 2023 E. Jean Carroll civil trial, a federal jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse (forcible digital penetration) and defamation, awarding her $5M. They rejected the rape claim under NY\u2019s narrow legal definition (penile penetration).\u201d<\/p>\n
One user called Smith a \u201cdumb liberal puppet.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you have receipts from when you went after other Presidents also?\u201d BuckeyeInTexas replied. <\/p>\n
\u201cI hope you get sued for defamation and being an idiot,\u2019 another replied. <\/p>\n
\u201cTrump is living rent free in his head,\u201d another wrote. <\/p>\n
\u201cTDS got ahold of this brotha,\u201d another wrote. \u201cSo sad.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cTorrey is one of the dumbest athletes of all time,\u2019 another wrote. <\/p>\n
There were folks who agreed with Smith, too, though.<\/p>\n
\u201cBruh \u2026 LOL,\u201d one person replied. <\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a fact,\u201d Craig Brewer wrote. <\/p>\n
\u201cBingo,\u201d another person shared. <\/p>\n
Smith starred collegiately at Maryland before the Ravens took him in the second round, 58th-overall, of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played for the team through 2014 before a stint with the San Francisco 49ers. He was with the Eagles in 2017 and closed out his career with the Carolina Panthers in 2018. <\/p>\n
Smith caught 319 passes for 5,141 yards and 41 touchdowns across his career.
