It doesn’t take a mastermind to figure out what the Buffalo Bills<\/a> should be doing this offseason, right?<\/p>\n

For years, there has been the narrative that the Bills have to get Josh Allen a top weapon, but in the past couple of seasons, Allen appears to be faring well without one, as Joe Brady’s ‘everybody-eats’ mantra has fueled the offense.<\/p>\n

But that only gets you so far in the playoffs, and now with a head coaching change, the Bills can’t afford to waste Allen’s prime.<\/p>\n

That’s why\u00a0NFL.com’s Matt Okada has named getting Allen a downfield threat as Buffalo’s biggest priority.<\/p>\n

“In 2025, the Bills did not have a single wide receiver log 15+ downfield receptions (10+ air yards), per NFL Pro,” Okada wrote<\/a>. “If Buffalo could land someone like George Pickens or Alec Pierce , it would be huge, but otherwise they should sign someone like Rashid Shaheed or draft a potential WR1 like Malachi Fields (Daniel Jeremiah\u2019s mock pick) or Denzel Boston (Cynthia Frelund\u2019s and Chad Reuter\u2019s mock picks) in the first round.”<\/p>\n

Could Bills afford to go after a true No. 1?<\/p>\n

Absolutely, they could, although it would require some salary cap massaging from general manager Brandon Beane.<\/p>\n

If we are being honest, this has to be the offseason that Beane gets his quarterback a top weapon.<\/p>\n

A.J. Brown could be available, along with Alec Pierce, as Okada mentioned, so there won’t be any shortage of options, and the draft doesn’t seem viable because Buffalo needs a proven winner.<\/p>\n

Plus, they can’t afford another Keon Coleman situation, not with Allen under pressure to deliver a title.<\/p>\n

So, yes, Buffalo’s highest priority is to get its MVP quarterback an elite receiver. Just as it has been for years.<\/p>\n
