Buccaneers WR Mike Evans<\/a> is undecided on retirement and recalls when his wife convinced him to remain with the team back in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I leave this game soon, I\u2019m going to be happy with the receiving room that\u2019s left in Tampa and excited to watch them have a great career and carry on the torch,\u201d Evans said, via ESPN<\/a>. \u201c[She said] \u2018Maybe we should stay in Tampa,\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I want to be in Tampa. And they offered me great money. It wasn\u2019t even about the money \u2014 I just I wanted to see everything as a whole.\u201d<\/p>\n

Evans was asked how soon he would make his decision, with GM Jason Licht and QB Baker Mayfield<\/a> weighing in on what he means to the franchise.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will be soon \u2014 even if it\u2019s three, four more years I play. I played 12, so we\u2019ll see. Time will tell.\u201d Evans said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s an unprecedented player,\u201d Licht said of Evans back in 2024. \u201cWe want him to be a Buc for life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat fire \u2014 it just demands everybody to raise their standards,\u201d Mayfield said of Evans. \u201cWe love that Mike is vocal about it. He obviously expects greatness out of himself and expects people to rise to the occasion as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Buccaneers QB Baker Mayfield commented on the perceived issues between himself and Falcons HC Kevin Stefanski stemming from their time together with the Browns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s stuff there, but it\u2019s not like it\u2019s beef,\u201d Mayfield said,\u00a0via NFL.com<\/a>. \u201cWe\u2019ve worked together; anytime you know somebody, you want to beat them, whether it\u2019s a good or bad relationship.\u00a0Not a revenge game of a sense of Atlanta, but we lost the division for the first time since four or five years, so, any divisional game will be a revenge game, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joseph Person of The Athletic<\/a> examines the Panthers\u2019 roster and possible moves they can make this offseason:<\/p>\n

Person lists DT A\u2019Shawn Robinson<\/a> as the team\u2019s most likely cap-related cut, which will save them $10.5 million in cap and create $2.06 million in dead money. Person points out that Carolina already has a lot of money tied into their defensive line with Derrick Brown<\/a>, Tershawn Wharton<\/a>, and Bobby Brown<\/a>.
\nPerson names QB Andy Dalton<\/a> as a possible trade candidate, given the Panthers seem \u201cintent\u201d on upgrading the backup quarterback role.\u00a0
\nPerson has G Damien Lewis<\/a> as an extension candidate after being among the team\u2019s five highest graded offensive players by Pro Football Focus and only missing two starts in two years.
\nPanthers TE Tommy Tremble<\/a> is another extension candidate, given he\u2019s the best blocking tight end on the team.\u00a0
\nAlthough Person thinks CB Mike Jackson has a case to receive a bump in his salary, he points out that the cornerback is approaching his 30s and would be more costly to extend than someone like Tremble.\u00a0<\/p>\n
