The Arizona Cardinals<\/a> very likely will be in the market for a running back in free agency. One just came off the board.<\/p>\n The Dallas Cowboys and running back Javonte Williams agreed to a three-year contract extension<\/a> worth $24 million.<\/p>\n Williams rushed for a career-high 1,201 yards in 2025 with 11 touchdowns, averaging 4.8 yards per attempt. He added 35 receptions for 137 yards and two scores.<\/p>\n He will only be 26 years old next season, so he would have been a solid choice for the Cardinals to target in free agency. But the Cowboys took him off the market before free agency ever began.<\/p>\n The Cardinals have James Conner and Trey Benson under contract, but both are coming off season-ending injuries, Conner will be 31 next season and he averaged only 3.0 yards per attempt before he got hurt.
