{"id":772360,"date":"2026-02-24T04:05:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T04:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/772360\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T04:05:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T04:05:17","slug":"misty-mcmichael-widow-of-chicago-bears-icon-steve-mongo-mcmichael-cleared-of-domestic-battery-charge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/772360\/","title":{"rendered":"Misty McMichael, widow of Chicago Bears icon Steve &#8220;Mongo&#8221; McMichael, cleared of domestic battery charge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No charges will be filed against Misty McMichael, the widow of Chicago Bears legend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/news\/steve-mcmichael-chicago-bears-obit\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Steve &#8220;Mongo&#8221; McMichael<\/a>, after she was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/chicago\/news\/misty-mcmichael-domestic-battery-will-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">arrested during a welfare check<\/a>\u00a0early Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Will County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said deputies responded to a home in Frankfort, Illinois, following multiple 911 hang-up calls placed from the home.<\/p>\n<p>McMichael and a man told deputies that they had been drinking and arguing for hours. The man said the fight turned physical, and McMichael choked him, which she disputed, saying that it didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>The sheriff&#8217;s office said a witness told them they had heard the couple arguing for hours, then heard &#8220;a lot of noise and banging.&#8221; They said they found both on the kitchen floor.
