The Seattle Seahawks<\/a> decided to put all their eggs in one basket in 2025, adding wide receiver Rashid Shaheed<\/a> at the NFL trade deadline from the New Orleans Saints<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In doing so, the deal paid off, and the Seahawks went on to win their second Super Bowl in franchise history.<\/p>\n

When trading for Shaheed, Seattle used it as a rental year as the wide receiver\/return specialist was on an expiring contract. He’s in line to hit free agency this offseason. Let’s take a look at what could be expected of the 27-year-old.<\/p>\n

Rashid Shaheed expected to get $6-12M annually in next contract<\/p>\n

Rashid Shaheed brought a new level of scoring for Seattle in their Super Bowl run. In the second half of the NFL season, he had two iconic return touchdowns for his new team.<\/p>\n

One came in their overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams<\/a> that ultimately determined who would go on to win the NFC West and secure the No. 1 seed in the conference. The other took place in the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>, that kickstarted Seattle’s beatdown of the San Francisco 49ers.<\/p>\n

Organizations know the value that Shaheed brings, and ESPN’s Bill Barnwell projected<\/a> that Shaheed will receive a contract where he would get an annual pay of $6 to 12 million.<\/p>\n

Barnwell mentioned that Shaheed brings “a pick-one-or-the-other scenario” that would put Seattle in a weird decision in bringing him back or running back Kenneth Walker III.<\/p>\n

Walker III is also heading into free agency after winning the Super Bowl MVP.<\/p>\n

A lot is at stake for the Seahawks this offseason, and it will be interesting to see how free agency plays out.<\/p>\n
