The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> aren’t expected to have a down season again, as they did in 2025. Last season was viewed as “the” time to cash in, and it was the Seattle Seahawks<\/a> who did.<\/p>\n

But for the AFC, it was a chance missed, as Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs are predicted to bounce back in 2026, having had ample time to fix their glaring weaknesses.<\/p>\n

The AFC’s top dog had a down year\u00a0but feels primed for a good season, and if one move goes down, it could spell doom for the rest of the AFC.<\/p>\n

If Tyreek Hill rejoins Kansas City, as ESPN’s Nate Taylor writes, it will complete Mahomes’ Infinity Gauntlet ahead of 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf both parties can agree to a deal, whether later in the offseason or early in the season, Hill would be reunited with Mahomes, coach Andy Reid and potentially tight end Travis Kelce, who is strongly considering re-signing with the team for the 14th season in his career, according to multiple members of the Chiefs’ organization,”\u00a0Taylor wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hill reunion nightmare fuel for AFC<\/p>\n

Well, on paper anyway.<\/p>\n

Mahomes having Hill, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce isn’t a bad quartet to have. Plus, if the Chiefs also address their run game, with say, Travis Etienne or Breece Hall, then yeah, the franchise will be a big problem.<\/p>\n

Over the coming weeks, we will watch intently to see how Kansas City goes about fixing its roster after the disaster that was 2025.<\/p>\n

And if Hill is signed, along with a star running back (even drafting Jeremiyah Love), the Chiefs will once again have that ominous feel about them.<\/p>\n
