In an effort to avoid another last-place finish that saw them go 3-14, the Tennessee Titans<\/a> made a lot of interesting decisions last offseason. They still finished 3-14, leading to the dismissal of head coach Brian Callahan.<\/p>\n

Chief among those decisions included splurging in free agency by signing left tackle Dan Moore to a four-year, $82 million contract. The move was met with great skepticism at the time<\/a>, and Moore, to no surprise, graded 62nd among 89 offensive tackles in 2025 by Pro Football Focus<\/a>. After allowing eight sacks and committing seven penalties, the Titans could look to replace Moore before next season kicks off.<\/p>\n

The Athletic\u2018s Joe Rexrode<\/a> believes the Titans have no choice but to re-evaluate their offensive line ahead of Cam Ward<\/a>\u2018s second NFL season.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, the Titans also should be prioritizing protecting quarterback Cam Ward after allowing a whopping 56 sacks in 2025 and seeing him sustain a shoulder injury late in the season. Is Dan Moore at left tackle good enough next season? Are the Titans examining a large crop of tackles as closely as any other position? Poor choices there have been a big part of the story of this franchise\u2019s decline, but it also means they have to keep trying until they get it right.\u201d<\/p>\n

New Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll may have a better plan for utilizing Moore in 2026, but it\u2019s also possible that Tennessee decides to bring in some stiff competition. After all, as Rexrode noted, the Titans have to ensure they provide a more stable environment for the former No. 1 overall pick, and Moore\u2019s play wasn\u2019t up to par this season.<\/p>\n

Boasting the fourth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Titans could look to select their franchise left tackle in the first round. If so, Moore could find himself learning how to play a different position along the offensive line as the Titans try putting their five best protectors on the field.<\/p>\n
