Clark, 45, publicly apologized to Griffin, his former NFL teammate, on \u201cThe Pivot\u201d podcast on Friday over comments he\u2019d made about the former quarterback\u2019s wife, Grete, as their beef over the Caitlin Clark-Angel Reese rivalry got personal.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe should not have been brought up in me trying to make a point about how having Black women close to you and the things that you can learn from them can help you approach how you speak to, and about them,\u201d Clark said said of Grete, who is white. \u201cShe didn\u2019t need to be the illustration of that. I could speak positively about what they are without making the insinuations that it\u2019s something that non-Black women don\u2019t do well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark elaborated on his thought process behind the initial video of<\/a> the Griffin couple, discussing the feud between WNBA stars Reese and Clark.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the video that RG3 posted that I felt mocked Angel Reese, she [Grete] was in the background,\u201d Clark said. \u201cI did not love the optics of RG3, a Black man, attacking and imitating, and what I felt insulting a black woman, with his wife in the background almost as a prop, and, in my opinion, applauding what I felt was a personal attack.\u201d<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n In the video that set off the ex-NFLers\u2019 feud, Griffin claimed that Reese \u201chated\u201d Caitlin Clark, and that was the reason behind the Chicago forward\u2019s reaction to a flagrant foul by the Fever star in their season-opening matchup.<\/p>\n
