{"id":772922,"date":"2026-02-24T09:47:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T09:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/772922\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T09:47:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T09:47:17","slug":"qb-jayden-maiava-makes-off-the-field-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/772922\/","title":{"rendered":"QB Jayden Maiava makes off-the-field move"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/ncaa-football\/usc-football\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">USC football<\/a> quarterback Jayden Maiava just became richer on Monday after leading the Big Ten in passing yards <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/ncaa-football\/usc-football-news-jayden-maiava-returning-trojans-for-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">and choosing to return to the Trojans back in December<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Maiava now has QB reps in his corner, with Pete Nakos of On3\/Rivals <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeteNakos\/status\/2026090134236459021?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">revealing the NIL move<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUSC QB Jayden Maiava has signed with QB Reps for NIL representation,\u201d Nakos wrote. \u201cMaiava finished first in the Big Ten in passing yards (3,431) in 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On3\/Rivals calculated that Maiava <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/jayden-maiava-58668\/nil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">earned $2.2 million off of NIL<\/a>. The website for QB Reps also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qbreps.com\/jayden-maiava-signs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">announced the news<\/a> of landing Maiava.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a proven starter at USC and one of the most experienced signal-callers in college football next year, Maiava is well-positioned as a high potential brand partner,\u201d the press release stated.<\/p>\n<p>Is Jayden Maiava ready for leap at USC?<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3712770\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Jayden-Maiava-throwing.jpg\" alt=\"Southern California Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava (14) throws the ball against the TCU Horned Frogs in the first half during the Alamo Bowl at Alamodome.\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\"  \/>Kirby Lee-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>Maiava&#8217;s decision to opt for one more season in the Land of Troy benefited more than just the Trojans.<\/p>\n<p>The move eases concerns for head coach <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/tag\/lincoln-riley\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lincoln Riley<\/a>, especially during an offseason that saw him <a href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/ncaa-football\/usc-football-news-trojans-lose-former-5-star-qb-transfer-portal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">lose one high-profile QB in Husan Longstreet<\/a>. Riley lost a prized five-star QB he flipped from Texas A&amp;M in the process.<\/p>\n<p>But Maiava enters 2026 likely to hear either Heisman Trophy or top overall pick chatter ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft. Maiava proved he can thrive against Big Ten defenses in a full season as the starter.<\/p>\n<p>The right-handed passer delivered two 300-yard contests in conference play \u2014 including 364 against No. 23 Illinois despite the loss back on September 27.<\/p>\n<p>But he showed he can win against Big Ten competition too, going 7-2 in conference games, which includes taking down nationally ranked Iowa (No. 21) and Michigan (No. 15).<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not currently known how much Maiava&#8217;s QB Reps contract is worth. But it&#8217;s the same collective that represented former Oregon star Bo Nix and Alabama QB turned NFL Draft hopeful Ty Simpson. Maiava will enter the 2026 season carrying hefty hype and immense expectations.
