After seeing Jakobi Meyers’ impact on the Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a> following the mid-season trade with the Raiders<\/a>, what grade would you now give that deal?<\/p>\n

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report<\/a> revisited each trade deadline deal made in 2025, sharing the original grade handed out and then regrading the trades based on how the remainder of the season unfolded.<\/p>\n

To land Meyers, the Jaguars<\/a> traded fourth and sixth-round picks in the 2026 NFL draft to the Raiders. Originally, the Jaguars were given a B- and the Raiders a B.<\/p>\n

Now, after the fact? The Jaguars’ grade was bumped to a B+, while the Raiders still received a B.<\/p>\n

“Meyers will be part of Jacksonville’s future, however, as he signed a three-year, $60 million extension in December,” wrote Kay. “That helps improve Jacksonville’s grade, as the team needed and now has another quality wideout to complement Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter through the 2028 season.”<\/p>\n

If you ask me, I give the Jaguars an A for this deal.<\/p>\n

As Liam Coen described recently, Meyers made an immediate impact after joining the Jaguars.<\/p>\n

“Our first practice with Jakobi Meyers, we were a better team,” Coen said on the Pat McAfee Show.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a member of the Jaguars, Meyers added stability to the passing game, catching 43-of-63 passes for 495 yards with three touchdowns.<\/p>\n

However, Meyers’ impact went well beyond the stat sheet, which is why I grade this trade so highly.<\/p>\n

Meyers’ skill set makes him a terrific fit for the Coen offense. He can be moved around pre-snap, while in the passing game Meyers is comfortable and effective attacking the middle and intermediate parts of the football field — not to mention that he’s a willing run blocker as well.<\/p>\n

Having that presence in the offense who can handle those important roles then frees up the other\u00a0Jaguars<\/a>‘ pass-catchers. Meyers’ impact is multi-faceted.<\/p>\n

It’s easy to see why the Jaguars were so quick to sign Meyers to an extension.<\/p>\n
