In less than two weeks, Javonte Williams could\u2019ve had the chance to negotiate with any other team in the NFL as a free-agent running back.<\/p>\n
Turns out, he was already where he wanted to be.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah I could\u2019ve,\u201d Williams said of negotiating and listened to other offers. \u201cBut it\u2019s about just being here and being around everybody. I feel the love here. This where I wanted to be.\u201d<\/p>\n
Williams officially signed his three-year, $24 million extension on Tuesday at The Star in Frisco. Like always, he didn\u2019t have much to say, only that it was excited to be in this position. Let\u2019s not forget just a year ago he was an unrestricted free agent and signed a one-year deal in Dallas.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the beginning of the season, I didn\u2019t even know how it was going to go,\u201d said Williams, who was splitting time with Miles Sanders and rookie Jaydon Blue was also in the mix. \u201cBut I feel like it worked out for both sides. Everything was good. I\u2019m just blessed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Williams finished the 2025 season with a career-high in both rushing yards (1,201) and touchdowns (13).<\/p>\n
When asked if he\u2019s ready to take the offense to the next level, Williams grinned and said \u201cyou know it.\u201d But he definitely wants to keep the same group intact.<\/p>\n
When Cowboys owner\/GM Jerry Jones called Williams over the weekend to congratulate him after the deal had been agreed to, the running back had a subtle request for the boss.<\/p>\n
