JIM Irsay took ownership of the Indianapolis Colts after the death of his father in 1997.<\/p>\n

Now, after his death at 65 years old, Irsay is passing the Colts<\/a> along to his three daughters.<\/p>\n

“We are devastated to announce our beloved Owner & CEO, Jim Irsay, passed away peacefully in his sleep this afternoon,” Colts chief operating officer Pete Ward said in a team statement. <\/p>\n

“Jim’s dedication and passion for the Indianapolis Colts in addition to his generosity, commitment to the community, and most importantly, his love for his family were unsurpassed.”<\/p>\n

The plan for the Colts’ succession involves Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, and Kalen Jackson.<\/p>\n

Each of Irsay’s daughters currently hold the title of vice chair\/owner.<\/p>\n

The late Colts owner previously stated that his daughters are all equals in team ownership and will continue to be involved in the team after his death.<\/p>\n

One daughter will hold the vote as principle owner, but it won’t be a fixed role and can be rotated.<\/p>\n

All three daughters have served as vice chair\/owner for the last 12 years, focusing on different initiatives over that time.<\/p>\n

Carlie is Irsay’s eldest daughter, and is expected to take over the role as principle owner.<\/p>\n

According to the Indianapolis Star, she will “primarily take charge of the football side of the franchise.”<\/p>\n

Before Irsay’s death, Carlie served as a member of the NFL<\/a>‘s Media Owned & Operated Committee, which oversees NFL Network, NFL.com, NFL Mobile, and other media properties.<\/p>\n

She also served as a member of the NFL’s Security & Fan Conduct Committee.<\/p>\n

Carlie has represented the Colts at Owners’ meetings since 2004.<\/p>\n

She lives in Indianapolis with her husband Zach Gordon and three children.<\/p>\n

Like her sister, Casey has represented the Colts at NFL Owners’ Meetings for years.<\/p>\n

She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in sports marketing, and quickly put that to use in the NFL.<\/p>\n

Foyt was involved in bringing the first NFL game to London at Wembley Stadium in 2007.<\/p>\n

After that, she joined the Colts organization and focused on community relations and marketing.<\/p>\n

Foyt rebuilt the Indianapolis Colts Women’s Organization and helps plans its fundraisers.<\/p>\n

She lives in Carmel, Indiana with her husband, Anthony J. Foyt IV, and their five children.<\/p>\n

Kalen Jackson\"Kalen<\/a><\/p>\n

Jackson is the youngest of Irsay’s three daughters, and joined the team in 2010.<\/p>\n

She is at the forefront of the Irsay family’s philanthropic efforts.<\/p>\n

Jackson leads Kicking the Stigma, the Irsay family’s initiative to raise awareness about mental heath disorders.<\/p>\n

Irsay’s youngest daughter is also president of the Indianapolis Colts Women’s Organization alongside Foyt and represents the team at NFL Owners’ Meetings like her sisters.<\/p>\n

Jackson is the youngest member of the NFL’s Employee Benefits Committee.<\/p>\n
