Drew Allar has a chance in front of him to seize the spotlight.<\/p>\n

The Penn State Nittany Lions<\/a> QB is in the 2026 NFL Draft class of quarterbacks, and he has chosen to throw at the NFL Combine.<\/p>\n

For Allar, it’s a chance to reclaim some of his reputation.<\/p>\n

Allar was viewed as a first-round quarterback before the 2025 college football season.<\/p>\n

Then he and Penn State struggled, and then Allar got hurt, and that was that.<\/p>\n

Now, Allar’s draft value is quite the mystery, but he’s done something right here.<\/p>\n

By choosing to throw at the combine, Allar can raise his own value. Fernando Mendoza isn’t throwing and will almost certainly go No. 1 overall to the Raiders. After that, though, there’s room for players to move up the board.<\/p>\n

QB2 right now is Alabama’s Ty Simpson, but he had just one year as a starter and isn’t a sure thing.<\/p>\n

Allar wasn’t perfect, but there were reasons that people believed in him in the first place.<\/p>\n

That’s long-time NFL backup quarterback Chase Daniel with the positive take on Allar. He likely won’t be the only one.<\/p>\n

It was easy to forget about Allar as other QBs shone at the end of the year.<\/p>\n

But in draft prep, Allar should grab attention again. Maybe, just maybe, he can play himself back near the top of the non-Mendoza quarterback rankings.<\/p>\n
