The Seahawks aren\u2019t sure about visiting the White House just yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Super Bowl-winning head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday at the NFL combine that he and the Seahawks will make a decision on whether they\u2019ll go to the nation\u2019s capital after they hear from President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe haven\u2019t got an invite yet,\u201d Macdonald said. \u201cAnd then we\u2019ll address it after that, after we get the invite.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Seattle Times reported<\/a> that the \u201cinitial inclination of the organization would be to accept the invite.\u201d<\/p>\n White House is seen on June 9, 2025 in Washington, DC. AP<\/p>\n Last year, the Eagles accepted Trump\u2019s invitation to the White House, although stars like Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith declined to attend.\u00a0<\/p>\n After winning the 2018 Super Bowl, the Eagles did not go to Washington, D.C., after Trump rescinded his invitation over a disagreement surrounding the national anthem kneeling debate at the time. Many Eagles were not expected to attend if the invite remained valid.<\/p>\n Seattle visited the White House in 2014 after winning the Super Bowl when President Barack Obama was in office.\u00a0<\/p>\n More recently, members of the U.S. men\u2019s Olympic hockey team attended the State of the Union address<\/a> on Tuesday night after taking home gold in Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n Five players returned home<\/a> rather than making the stop in D.C. to prepare for the resumption of the NHL season.<\/p>\n Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald speaks during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center.
