{"id":778033,"date":"2026-02-26T17:52:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T17:52:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/778033\/"},"modified":"2026-02-26T17:52:17","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T17:52:17","slug":"jaguars-dropped-capacity-second-london-game-aid-stadium-reno","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nfl\/778033\/","title":{"rendered":"Jaguars\u2019 dropped capacity, second London game aid stadium reno"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-facilities \">The Jaguars will \u201chost eight games at reduced capacity in 2026\u2033 and play <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/02\/25\/commanders-to-host-game-in-london-this-season-jaguars-will-host-back-to-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/02\/25\/commanders-to-host-game-in-london-this-season-jaguars-will-host-back-to-back\/\">two regular-season games in London<\/a>, giving the franchise a \u201ccritical in-season construction window,\u201d according to Foreman &amp; Cannon of the JACKSONVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/01\/19\/everbank-stadium-renovation-cuts-capacity-to-43000-for-2026-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/01\/19\/everbank-stadium-renovation-cuts-capacity-to-43000-for-2026-season\/\">EverBank Stadium\u2019s capacity will \u201cdrop to 42,507 for the 2026 NFL season<\/a>,\u201d down \u201csharply as 27,637 seats go offline during renovations.\u201d Of the 27,637 seats removed for the 2026 season, 22,005 are in the upper deck (400 Level) &#8212; a \u201csignificant contraction\u201d of the stadium\u2019s traditional capacity profile. Additional seats will be offline in 200-level corners, portions of both end zones and select club sections. The North End Zone spa deck and Sky Patio also will not operate in 2026. The reduction \u201creshapes the team\u2019s ticketing strategy for the season.\u201d Season ticket members displaced by construction \u201cwill be contacted individually to relocate to lower-bowl inventory,\u201d with those moving from the 400 level offered priority and preferred pricing options. The team is also \u201ccontinuing to accept new season ticket deposits.\u201d With a smaller inventory base and the Jaguars coming off a 13-win season, the organization \u201csignaled expectations of supply-demand pressure and a shrink in revenue in 2026.\u201d Jaguars President Mark Lamping said, \u201cYou can\u2019t lose a third of your inventory and expect to generate the same ticket revenue\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/jacksonville\/news\/2026\/02\/25\/stadium-renovation-forces-major-capacity-cut.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/jacksonville\/news\/2026\/02\/25\/stadium-renovation-forces-major-capacity-cut.html\">JACKSONVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL, 2\/25<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-facilities \">RELATIONSHIP FACTOR: Lamping emphasized that the team\u2019s relationship on both sides of the building in the leadership departments are \u201cworking at a \u2018whole other level\u2019 of respect and coordination.\u201d In Jacksonville, Demetrius Harvey noted one major decision the sides had to work through is how the team \u201cwill handle the two London games in 2026, and how to best take advantage of a major construction window during the year.\u201d The Jaguars \u201chope to have a Bye week either after the second London game and a road game either before the first London game or after the Bye\u201d so Jacksonville \u201ccan get a mult-week gap to ramp up\u201d what Lamping described as \u201ccritical work\u201d on the stadium. Lamping described that the schedule as \u201cbeing like a \u2018donut.\u2019\u201d That idea is contingent on the league agreeing and setting the schedule as Jacksonville wants. The \u201cdonut\u201d gives construction crews \u201cuninterrupted access to sensitive\/unsafe zones, lets the cranes work without game-day constraints and reduces extra costs on the backend for weekend work.\u201d The Jaguars are \u201cabout 15% complete and on schedule to finish ahead of the 2028 season\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/jaguars\/2026\/02\/25\/jacksonville-jaguars-stadium-construction-london-updates\/88849079007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/jaguars\/2026\/02\/25\/jacksonville-jaguars-stadium-construction-london-updates\/88849079007\/\">FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 2\/25<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph sections-facilities \">HOW MANY GAMES? Harvey in a separate piece noted the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2024\/05\/15\/jacksonville-jaguars-stadium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2024\/05\/15\/jacksonville-jaguars-stadium\/\">Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville\u2019s stadium agreement<\/a> stipulated\u202fthat the Jaguars \u201cmay host up to two games\u201d in London in 2026, while they have the \u201coption to host up to three games in London in 2027\u201d as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2024\/05\/14\/Unpacks\/jaguars-city-of-jacksonville-everbank-stadium-renovation-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2024\/05\/14\/Unpacks\/jaguars-city-of-jacksonville-everbank-stadium-renovation-deal\/\">stadium undergoes a $1.4B renovation<\/a>. While everything \u201cpoints to the team playing in Orlando in 2027,\u201d neither the team nor the NFL has made such an announcement.
