MetLife Stadium got an F- grade from players in the \u2018home game field\u2019 category of the NFL Players Association 2026 report cards, an annual survey grading franchises from A+ to F- in a variety of categories.<\/p>\n
The New York Giants as an organization finished 25th overall<\/a>. The Miami Dolphins were No. 1, and the Pittsburgh Steelers were last among the league\u2019s 32 franchises.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n The 2026 survey was the fourth annual. The first three were made public on the NFLPA website. The NFLPA did not post the results this year due to a grievance filed by the league. Nonetheless, ESPN obtained the report card results.<\/p>\n Giants NFLPA survey grades<\/p>\n Treatment of Families: B- Valentine\u2019s View<\/p>\n Here are some thoughts on a few of the categories.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Home Game Field: F-<\/p>\n The turf at MetLife Stadium has long been a source of consternation among players. The turf was replaced in 2023<\/a> and is constantly tested by the NFL, with the league insisting its data shows the MetLife field among the safest in the league<\/a>.<\/p>\n I wonder if some of that grade is simply following the long-running narrative that the MetLife turf contributes to injuries. I also wonder if part of the grade is a reaction to an ugly, lifeless building that has played host to two of the worst teams in the NFL for most of the past several years.<\/p>\n General Manager: D+<\/p>\n Joe Schoen of the Giants got, by far, the worst grade of any general manager in the league.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n A : Dan Morgan, George Paton, Chris Ballard, Les Snead, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, John Schneider, Adam Peters<\/p>\n A-: Eric DeCosta, Brandon Beane, Ryan Poles, Brad Holmes, Nick Caserio, James Gladstone, John Spytek, Chris Grier, Darren Mougey, John Lynch, Jason Licht<\/p>\n B+: Terry Fontenot, Brian Gutekunst, Brett Veach, Joe Hortiz, Eliot Wolf, Mike Borgonzi<\/p>\n B: Monti Ossenfort, Jerry Jones, Mickey Loomis, Howie Roseman<\/p>\n C: Duke Tobin, Andrew Berry<\/p>\n What does that say?<\/p>\n Well, of course that players are tired of losing and don\u2019t like Schoen\u2019s product. I think, though, the grade also reflects unhappiness with how Schoen deals with players in negotiations, resulting in a possible lack of trust. It might be a part of the reason why Dawn Aponte was hired and could end up doing a lot of the team\u2019s contract negotiating.<\/p>\n Whatever the reason, it isn\u2019t a good look for Schoen. Whether he wants to admit it or not, he has lost power in the organization, is fortunate to still have his job, and is in a battle to keep it.<\/p>\n Locker Room: D<\/p>\n It has been clear for a few years now that the Giants\u2019 once state of the art locker room had become cramped and outdated. The organization is renovating the locker room space this offseason, and I would expect that grade to go up in 2027. The dining area has also been undergoing renovation.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Defensive Coordinator: D+<\/p>\n Yeah, nobody misses Shane Bowen.<\/p>\n Offensive Coordinator: C+<\/p>\n I thought Mike Kafka would have fared better here after his stint as interim head coach.<\/p>\n Head Coach: C<\/p>\n Players liked Brian Daboll well enough as a person.
