The Miami Dolphins<\/a> will be looking for a new quarterback this offseason, after they benched Tua Tagovailoa near the end of their 2025 campaign due to his poor performance (67.7% completion percentage, 2,660 yards, 20 touchdowns and 15 interceptions).<\/p>\n While Miami could consider signing a top quarterback in free agency, they may be more inclined to take a prospect in the upcoming NFL draft. As evidence of that point, the Dolphins<\/a> met with Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck at the 2026 NFL combine.<\/p>\n “I had a formal (meeting) with the Dolphins,” Beck said on Friday.<\/a> “Honestly, I thought it went really well. Sometimes I think it’s kind of hard to read how the interviews go because you got 20 guys sitting around you nailing you with questions over and over again. Honestly, I just want to be myself in those interviews and let them know who I am, what I stand for and what I can bring to the table. Personally, I felt like it went well, but I honestly have no idea.”<\/p>\n Beck was a four-star recruit out of Mandarin High school in Jacksonville, Florida before spending five seasons at Georgia and ended his college career with one season at Miami.<\/p>\n In 55 games, Beck completed 69.5% of his passes for 11,725 yards, 88 touchdowns and 32 interceptions. He won two national championships as a backup and went to another a starter. He also earned All-Conference honors twice.<\/p>\n Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.<\/a><\/p>\n Currently projected to go in the third or fourth round of this year’s draft, Beck probably isn’t going to get taken as a starter, but he could be someone that Miami takes to compete for the job alongside Quinn Ewers<\/a> and maybe a veteran from outside the building.<\/a><\/p>\n
