If you ask a lot of people around the NFL, they would probably predict Green Bay Packers<\/a> quarterback Malik Willis will end up signing with the Miami Dolphins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And that prediction makes sense, as there’s a connection between Willis and Miami through new head coach Jeff Hafley and general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, who were with Willis in Green Bay.<\/p>\n

However, NBC Sports’ Matthew Berry<\/a> is hearing something different. Rumor has it that Willis is going to end up with the Arizona Cardinals<\/a> on a deal that pays at least $30 million annually.<\/p>\n

“Now, everyone wants Malik Willis to go to the Miami Dolphins,” Berry stated. “I heard no. I heard Malik Willis is getting at least $30 million and is going to be the starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals.”<\/p>\n

There is a loose connection between Willis and the Cardinals, as Mike LaFleur, the brother of Willis’ soon-to-be former head coach, Matt LaFleur, is now in charge in Arizona. We would assume Matt would endorse Willis to his brother.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard a rumor connecting Willis to the Cardinals.<\/p>\n

Essentially Sports’ Tony Pauline reported earlier this week that Arizona is believed to be the most likely landing spot<\/a> for the former third-round pick.<\/p>\n

“People I\u2019ve spoken with believe Willis ends up with the Arizona Cardinals, as they are expected to cut ties with Kyler Murray,” Pauline reported.<\/p>\n

As Pauline mentions in his report, the Cardinals are expected to have a vacancy at the quarterback position this offseason, with rumors suggesting they are going to cut ties with Murray<\/a>, either through trade or release.<\/p>\n

The Cardinals would then be left with Jacoby Brissett under center, and while he was good last season, he doesn’t offer long-term upside the way Willis does.<\/p>\n

We should have our answer on where Willis ends up within a few weeks, as the legal tampering period begins on March 9, and the official start of free agency is March 11.<\/p>\n
