Mike Minter has had a long week, and he’s enjoyed every moment of it. He spoke with the media before the nitty-gritty began at the NFL Combine. He was a guest of Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio and Chris Simms. He was asked where Baltimore must improve to generate immediate success.<\/p>\n

That was just part of his media tour in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine. He also met with Pat McAfee, Rich Eisen, and SiriusXM NFL radio, among others.<\/p>\n

None of this was about small talk. They were windows of opportunity to explain how he intends to shape this great organization’s next chapter.<\/p>\n

Baltimore isn\u2019t a rebuilding franchise searching for identity. This is a team with playoff expectations. Theirs is a physical brand of football and a locker room built to compete now.<\/p>\n

That makes the margin for error thinner. The areas that need improvement are already obvious. Eric DeCosta and his staff will be allowed to fill their needs in free agency.<\/p>\n

Minter understands that quick turnarounds don’t come from cosmetic upgrades. They come from strengthening the foundation. As long as he maintains that theory, he’ll be fine.
