Brown and free-agent targets: Inside the Patriots’ plans at the NFL Scouting Combine – Boston Herald
The Patriots have explored trade talks involving Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown, but feel the current asking price is unserious, according to one source. Several league sources believe Brown could nonetheless be dealt, and the return could be a step above what the Seahawks received when they traded D.K. Metcalf and a sixth-round pick to Pittsburgh last year for a second-rounder at 52nd overall and a seventh-round pick. Executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf said this week that the team would be willing to trade their first-round pick in the right situation.

2026 NFL combine buzz: Intel on free agency, trades, QBs – ESPN
Graziano: Teams have contacted the Eagles about a potential Brown trade, but word is that Philly’s asking price remains too high. This lines up with what I heard about the Eagles’ stance: They’d be open to the right offer, but it would have to be a really good one. They don’t want to just get rid of Brown or need him off the team for any chemistry reasons. The Eagles will always listen to trade offers, but if they’re going to move Brown, it sounds like they’d have to be blown away. Brown, and it’s not just dependent on Diggs. According to our sources, there’s a scenario where the Patriots could have both receivers on the roster. In the event Diggs is willing to restructure his contract, the team sees an avenue to pair him with Brown. The receiver hasn’t been happy in Philadelphia and is a fan of Vrabel. That relationship goes both ways. There are concerns, however, about Brown’s knees. He had surgery on both knees in 2021 and sustained another knee injury during the 2023 season. But even with those issues, the veteran has surpassed the 1,000-yard mark in each of the past four seasons.

Eagles Film Review: Dallas Goedert, stay or go? – BGN
Dallas Goedert is the most uncomfortable free agent decision on the Eagles’ offensive side of the ball this offseason. The cap situation is pretty confusing, so I’m going to try to focus on the film rather than the cap stuff, as it seems there is stuff going on behind the scenes with his contract. Statistically, he delivered an elite scoring season, with 60 receptions, 591 yards, and 11 touchdowns across 15 games, operating as a primary red-zone weapon and a trusted outlet for Jalen Hurts in high-leverage situations. I feel like we all know what Dallas Goedert is like as a player, as he’s been around a while, so I’ll try to focus on the 2025 film only here.

In Roob’s Obs: Is Eagles free agent Jaelan Phillips really worth $20 or more? – NBCSP
One of Nick Sirianni’s most interesting answers during his long interview at the Jefferson Health Training Complex before heading to Indianapolis for the Combine had to do with exactly what his working relationship with Sean Mannion will look like. He’s promised the 33-year-old rookie play caller autonomy, and he knows he has to trust Mannion and let him do his job without interference. “I’m here to be a resource for (Mannion), but I know that the most important thing that I need to do is be the head football coach of the football team, not the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. I need to be the head football coach in charge of everything.” In other words, he knows he has to stay out of Mannion’s way and let him coach the way he wants to coach while he manages all the macro stuff – culture, practice, communication with players, and so on. But can he do that? If things aren’t going well in a game or over a couple weeks, will he try to be the offensive coordinator and step on Mannion’s toes? He is an offensive coach by trade and he will have at least some say in the game plan, but will he overstep his bounds? You know there’ll be times he’ll be tempted, but the Eagles hired Mannion because they trust him to do this job. Now Sirianni has to just stay out of his way and let him do it.

Howie Roseman says he’ll always listen to any GM who wants to make any trade offer – PFT
If another team wants to make a trade offer for a player on the Eagles, General Manager Howie Roseman will always listen. He’ll require some specific ingredients to run the defense he wants to run. While the front office must avoid the lure of a spending spree that statistically leads to problems, a more proactive approach to the next tier of free agency could possibly increase their chances a little. Instead of spending the money to add young, ascending free agents coming off their rookie deals, he chose cheap, one-year aging veteran contracts, mistakenly thinking this team was close and his desire to try to run it back in 2025 may have set this team back a few years. The Commanders are now at a pivotal point in the Adam Peters-Dan Quinn tenure where a hard reset is in order. Washington currently has the fifth most cap space in the NFL at just over $71 million and can easily make more with some cuts and restructures. An infusion of youth is desperately needed for the oldest roster in the NFL and if Adam does want to see a Super Bowl title in the Jayden Daniels era, he’ll need to do a much better job of acquiring younger, difference-making talent. On a team who could be entering year three of a responsible rebuild, Washington has taken a significant step backwards and needs to ‘recalibrate” yet again – this time with a head coach on the hot season and two brand new, first-time play-calling coordinators. A turn-around is possible, but it needs to be done the right way, and it needs to be sustainable.

NY Giants draft 2026: Could Carnell Tate be ‘Robin’ next to Malik Nabers’ ‘Batman’? – Big Blue View
Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate, consistently the player who has been given to the New York Giants most often in mock drafts prior to the 2026 NFL Draft, has a simple message for NFL teams. “If you want a game-changer, you got one right here,” Tate said during his podium session Saturday morning at the NFL Scouting Combine. Many of those who partook in the events at Lucas Oil Stadium wowed scouts with their speed in the 40-yard dash, their agility in drills and their explosiveness in the broad and vertical jumps. Some exceeded expectations, causing their draft stock to rise; others displayed flaws in their speed and/or athleticism (or chose not to perform), hurting their chances of being selected on Day 1 or Day 2 when the draft begins in Pittsburgh (April 23-25). Below I’ve listed seven players who undoubtedly impressed the league’s personnel decision-makers with their on-field performance.
