A longtime NFL<\/a> quarterback is reportedly back on the dating market after 8 years.<\/p>\n

Mac Jones, who currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers<\/a>, has reportedly been dating his girlfriend, Sophie Scott, for eight years. The couple met during their time at the University of Alabama. However, according to a report, the couple has broken up ahead of NFL free agency.<\/p>\n

“San Francisco #49ers Pro Bowl QB Mac Jones and his long-time girlfriend Sophie Scott have reportedly BROKEN UP. Scott is a former college cheerleader and model whom Mac has been dating since their days at the University of Alabama in 2019. Mac is reportedly on the market,” ML Football reported.<\/p>\n

Neither Jones nor Scott, a former college cheerleader, have publicly commented on the breakup.<\/p>\n

Scott’s last Instagram photo with Jones, though, came in spring of 2025. That is often a pretty telling sign of a breakup.<\/p>\n

It’s a big offseason for Jones<\/p>\n

While Jones is not a free agent, he could be a trade target for several NFL teams in need of a quarterback.<\/p>\n

The 49ers are expected to have a high price tag. Jones, the No. 15 overall pick from the 2021 draft, revitalized his career with the 49ers this past season, throwing for 2,151 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. The team went 5-3 in his starts.<\/p>\n

Kyle Shanahan told reporters he expected Jones to return in 2026.<\/p>\n

“As any player on our team, including myself and John [Lynch], you always listen to people and trade offers, but we’re also not into getting rid of good players,” Shanahan said. “So, I’d be very surprised if Mac wasn’t around us next year.”<\/p>\n

However, the 49ers could deal him if the price is right.<\/p>\n

According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the 49ers are expected to receive “big offers” for Jones, with the bidding starting at a third round NFL Draft pick.<\/p>\n
