49ers receiver Jauan Jennings<\/a> is set to be a free agent once the new NFL league year begins on March 11, and one ESPN analyst is projecting him to stay in the NFC West.<\/p>\n

But not in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n

Instead, in an article projecting one free agent signing for each team<\/a>, NFL writer Aaron Schatz tabbed the Seattle Seahawks to bring in the 28-year-old wideout this offseason.<\/p>\n

“This signing would achieve a couple of goals for the Seahawks,” Schatz wrote. “It would give them a receiver to replace Rashid Shaheed if he leaves in free agency. Furthermore,\u00a0Jennings\u00a0is a strong run blocker and the Seahawks still want to be a run-first offense.”<\/p>\n

Jennings has spent each of his five NFL seasons with San Francisco and just completed the final year of a two-year, $11.9 million contract signed in 2024. The former seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft has accrued 210 catches for 2,581 yards and 22 touchdowns across 75 games.<\/p>\n

In 2025, Jennings almost certainly was the 49ers’ most consistent wide receiver in a season when their top two projected wideouts entering the year — Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall — played just nine total games. The Tennessee product stepped up admirably, scoring a career-high nine touchdowns. <\/p>\n

As a result, Jennings is set to be one of the more highly sought-after free agents at his position. According to Spotrac.com<\/a>, he is projected to fetch a three-year contract worth around $68 million<\/a> — averaging out to $22.6 million per year. That number could prove to be too pricey for San Francisco, but Jennings does have a connection to Seattle’s new offensive coordinator.<\/a><\/p>\n

“New offensive coordinator Brian Fleury is familiar with\u00a0Jennings\u00a0from his time in San Francisco, and adding\u00a0Jennings\u00a0would bring the benefit of taking away from an important division rival,” Schatz continued.\u00a0“Jennings\u00a0had nine touchdowns last season but was even better in 2024, when he ranked 12th in\u00a0ESPN’s receiver scores<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

The 49ers, of course, would love to have Jennings back<\/a> in the Bay, and especially don’t want to see him playing for a division rival. <\/p>\n

The Faithful won’t need to wait long to learn Jennings’ fate, as NFL free agency will kick off in just over a week.<\/p>\n
