Much was made last week when internal grades of teams by players were leaked to the public after a court ruling said the NFL players\u2019 union was no longer permitted to publish those annual grades.<\/p>\n

Little clarity was provided.<\/p>\n

For example, the players graded each team in 18 categories \u201cfrom Nov. 2 to Dec. 11.\u201d of 2025, per the ESPN leak.\u00a0So the Bucs\u2019 record was 6-2 at the start of the survey while the team was comfortably loving life on a bye week. Bye the end of open voting period, the Bucs were reeling with a 7-7 record following utter humiliation on Thursday Night Football.<\/p>\n

When were most of the surveys answered? That sure seems like an important question for the Tampa Bay locker room. But there were no specifics offered.<\/p>\n

Specific questions were not releaved, nor any players\u2019 comments shown, among other things, so Joe struggles to evaluate the Bucs grades seriously.<\/p>\n

Looking at extremes in the grades, the \u201cF-\u201d for the hoe playing field is somewhat understandable. Grades for grass fields were down around the league, and the Bucs field was too often chewed up by a college game, and the Bucs\u2019 played a home game in steady rain on Dec. 7, against the Saints. That couldn\u2019t have helped.<\/p>\n

As for Team Travel getting an \u201cF,\u201d Joe knows other clubs travel fancier. Bucs players gave the team a \u201cC-\u201d grade in 2025.<\/p>\n

Did the Bucs have a bad delay or a crappy hotel last season? Warm beer after the win in Seattle? Poor air circulation after burritos were served?<\/p>\n

The Bucs\u2019 \u201cA\u201d grade for the strength coaches is ironic considering the Bucs let go of their head strength coach following last season.<\/p>\n

The Bucs\u2019 \u201cdefensive coordinator\u201d got an \u201cA-,\u201d and the head coach got a \u201cB.\u201d This tells Joe a lot of Bucs players voted early in the season. For those wondering, yes, they\u2019re both the same person: Todd Bowles. Those results also speak to how well-liked Bowles is.<\/p>\n

The \u201cA-\u201d for Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht is impressive. He\u2019s known around the NFL for being close with players and highly-respected by them. That\u2019s difficult when you\u2019re controlling who gets paid.<\/p>\n

Team Glazer getting a \u201cD\u201d after a earning a \u201cD+\u201d grade last year is somewhat funny.
