declared for the NFL Draft<\/a> in January after just 15 total starts at the collegiate ranks.<\/p>\n“Everybody talks about my starts, but I’ve played in other games besides that, and I’ve played against really good NFL players,” Simpson said to media Friday at the Combine. “There’s a number of first and second round draft picks that I went against and who I was in the locker room with… I feel like I’m ready, I’m a franchise quarterback.”<\/p>\n
Eventually, the question of where Simpson will land will be answered starting April 23 in Pittsburgh when the NFL Draft gets underway. And when that day comes?<\/p>\n
“What matters is what happens April [23 and 24],” Simpson said. “Whether it’s controlling what you can control and being the best ‘you’ that you can be. That’s all that matters… No matter where I’m projected, no matter where I go, I know that they’re going to get the best Ty Simpson they possibly can.”<\/p>\n
Before the Draft gets underway, Simpson and his family will be in Paducah on March 28 for an event called ‘Faith, Family & Football.’<\/p>\n
The event, put on by the McCracken County High School Booster Club, will feature Simpson and his family talking about their journey in the game of football and how faith has had an impact on every decision.<\/p>\n
That takes place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th, at McCracken County HS.<\/p>\n
