(KWCH) &#8211; After three seasons with the team, national outlets are reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs are parting ways with offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">ESPN\u2019s Adam Schefter, citing \u201csources,\u201d said that the Chiefs informed the 2019 second-round pick that he\u2019ll be released before the start of the league year, barring a trade. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Schefter reports that releasing Taylor \u201cwill save Kansas City $20 million under the cap.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Taylor, selected 35th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019, has spent nearly half of his career with the Chiefs. Taylor was the most penalized player in the NFL in his first season in Kansas City, but he\u2019s also credited for helping to limit pressure on Patrick Mahomes during playoff runs that included the Chiefs\u2019 second consecutive Super Bowl in the 2023 season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2026 KWCH.
