Eagles GM Howie Roseman set expectations low for splashy free agency moves this offseason, but the team is still keeping their options open, including keeping an eye on Maxx Crosby\u2019s situation in Las Vegas, according to Albert Breer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201dWe should know soon enough which path the Raiders are taking, with teams like Dallas, Chicago, Baltimore, Buffalo, New England, Philadelphia and the Rams keeping tabs on his availability.\u201c<\/p>\n

Breer explained that a trade for Crosby, to Philadelphia or elsewhere, could come as early as this week. He noted that it\u2019s a fluid situation and a bit complicated as the Raiders don\u2019t want to put in the effort to shopping one of the league\u2019s top defenders, and Crosby doesn\u2019t want it to be a public spectacle out of respect for owner Mark Davis. Still, Breer theorizes that now would be an ideal time<\/a> to maximize Crosby\u2019s value as the Raiders work toward a re-build.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s also logic to the idea that it\u2019s time for Crosby, who very badly wants to win, and the team, to move on. The Raiders will almost certainly have a rookie quarterback playing in the fall, and it could take a year or two to get the roster to where it needs to be. Would Crosby still be in his prime then? Would the Raiders be able to get the same price a year or two from now that they might bring home this week?\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eagles still have a lot of moves to make to build their 2026 roster, and Roseman said that they are prioritizing keeping guys in-house<\/a> who are about to hit free agency, but the GM also tried to trade for Micah Parsons last year, so he\u2019s not just going to miss out on Crosby. He also won\u2019t overpay either, especially given the Eagles tight salary cap situation and future outlook with a young defense full of players on rookie deals that will be up for a second contract in the next two to three seasons.<\/p>\n
