The Detroit Lions<\/a> announced the release of longtime lineman Graham Glasgow<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n With Detroit still over the NFL’s salary cap and the new league year approaching on March 11, Glasgow was thought to be a potential cut candidate<\/a>. The move saves the Lions<\/a> nearly $5.6 million on its 2026 salary cap and moves the franchise closer to being cap compliant.<\/p>\n Glasgow was also listed as a potential cut candidate because it just didn’t click last season for the Lions with Glasgow taking over as Frank Ragnow’s replacement at center. With Glasgow set to be 34 years of age entering next season and the Lions needing to find long-term solutions up front, this move wasn’t altogether shocking.<\/p>\n Still, Glasgow poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the Motor City across 110 games and 103 starts over seven seasons in two separate stints. On a tough day, Glasgow shared his love and appreciation for what Detroit brought him in a goodbye note to the organization, city and its fans.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m grateful for the 7 years I\u2019ve spent as a Detroit Lion. I\u2019m thankful for the great teammates, coaches, and friends I had along the way. I love this city and the fans that have supported me for the better part of a decade. Detroit and being a Lion has had a huge impact on making me into the man that I am today, and because of that, it will always hold a special place in my heart.<\/p>\n “I wish the Lions, especially my former teammates, nothing but the best. I will always be a fan of the guys who I took the field with, and I\u2019ll always be a fan of the team that changed my life.
