Moore<\/a> is off limits, as they could use the salary cap relief considering he hasn\u2019t performed to his $28.5 million cap number.\u00a0<br \/>\nOne league source raised concerns to Fishbain regarding Moore\u2019s connection with QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillCa03.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Caleb Williams<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s clear to me Caleb doesn\u2019t have a ton of trust in DJ. I don\u2019t think DJ has lost a step or anything like that. All the physical ability is still there. But at times, that\u2019s what it boils down to. If your quarterback, for whatever reason, doesn\u2019t have that trust, there becomes a disconnect.\u201d<br \/>\nFishbain mentions there\u2019s a sense within the team that Moore will return, but Chicago could be enticed to move him if they can get a fourth-round pick or conditional third-round pick.<br \/>\nWith LB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/E\/EdmuTr01.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tremaine Edmunds<\/a> being granted permission to seek a trade, Chicago is looking for speed as the biggest trait in replacements in that room.\u00a0<br \/>\nBears GM Ryan Poles is on record saying he wants S <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/B\/ByarKe01.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kevin Byard<\/a> back but it might be tough, as Fishbain says he\u2019s expected to get something like two years, $15 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/thescorechicago\/status\/2028463557919346905?s=20\" rel=\"nofollow\">Brad Biggs<\/a> of the Chicago Tribune said the Bears aren\u2019t interested in trading DT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DextGe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gervon Dexter<\/a>: \u201cThey\u2019re not taking calls on him. They\u2019re not making calls on him\u2026I\u2019m reporting nothing is happening on that\u2026 They\u2019ve got two defensive tackles under contract, they\u2019re not looking to move one. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/D\/DextGe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Gervon Dexter<\/a> will be with the Bears next season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sports Illustrated\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/nfl\/albert-breer-takeaways-lessons-lions-2023-draft-class\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Albert Breer<\/a> thinks Packers LT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WalkRa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Rasheed Walker<\/a> lands around or over $20 million a year as a free agent.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Athletic\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7077535\/2026\/03\/02\/nfl-combine-2026-takeaways-free-agency-plans\/?source=emp_shared_article&amp;unlocked_article_code=1.QFA.ON3f.RQPJbL806w2J&amp;smid=ta-ios-share\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Schneidman<\/a> thinks Packers GM Brian Gutekunst tipped his hand about inside linebacker, and that LB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WalkQu00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Quay Walker<\/a> will get more in free agency than Green Bay is comfortable matching.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7077614\/2026\/03\/02\/vikings-nfl-combine-qb-pursuit-jj-mccarthy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Alec Lewis of The Athletic<\/a> reports that the Vikings want to add an experienced, reliable veteran at quarterback, with options including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/S\/SmitGe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Geno Smith<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/MurrKy00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kyler Murray<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarrDe02.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Derek Carr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CousKi00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kirk Cousins<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/F\/FlacJo00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Joe Flacco<\/a>.<br \/>\nSources told Lewis that QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/M\/McCaJJ00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">J.J. McCarthy<\/a> is considered inconsistent by the team, and they feel he must take a major step forward on and off the field. Lewis explains the Vikings didn\u2019t know what they would get with McCarthy during games and practice.<br \/>\nHe also wrote the Vikings were caught off guard by the challenges McCarthy had with some of the elemental aspects of being the face of a franchise, and these growth hurdles have become widely known among NFL executives and coaches.<br \/>\nLewis adds Minnesota is intentionally casting a broad net to not get caught without a seat like last year when their preferred options signed elsewhere. He says the Vikings think Smith would fit great into the locker room but the Raiders have to cut him first.<br \/>\nMurray would be cheap once he\u2019s cut by Arizona as expected, but Lewis notes there would need to be discussions about how he\u2019d fit into the picture with McCarthy. Carr would require a trade with the Saints who own his rights, Cousins would require ownership approval and an agreement on salary. Flacco is the equivalent of their safety school and final fallback option.\u00a0<br \/>\nLewis mentions 49ers QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneMa05.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mac Jones<\/a> is too expensive in terms of trade compensation, and Steelers QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/R\/RodgAa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Aaron Rodgers<\/a> would eliminate any competition aspect with McCarthy.<br \/>\nAs for potential cap cuts, Lewis notes that veteran DT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/A\/AlleJo01.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jonathan Allen<\/a> and C <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/K\/KellRy00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ryan Kelly <\/a>are at risk of being released. The Vikings have already indicated they will cut DT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/H\/HargJa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Javon Hargrave<\/a> and RB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/J\/JoneAa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Aaron Jones<\/a>.<br \/>\nOne candidate Lewis mentioned for an extension is RT <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/O\/ONeiBr00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brian O\u2019Neill<\/a>, noting that it will take some negotiating for the two sides to reach a deal.<br \/>\nESPN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com.au\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/48045815\/2026-nfl-combine-latest-buzz-news-rumors-free-agency-draft-qbs-trades-offseason\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano<\/a> list Vikings WR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/N\/NailJa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jalen Nailor<\/a> as a pending free agent poised to do much, much better than people expect on the open market.\u00a0<br \/>\nAccording to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VinnyBonsignore\/status\/2028185041038192714\" rel=\"nofollow\">Vincent Bonsignore<\/a>, there was talk at the combine about the Vikings and retired QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/C\/CarrDe02.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-01_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Derek Carr<\/a>, who has indicated an interest in returning next season.<br \/>\nIn his Combine rumors notebook, NBC Sports\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/matthew-berry\/news\/matthew-berrys-35-most-interesting-things-he-heard-at-2026-nfl-combine\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Berry<\/a> says the sense in Indianapolis was that the smart money was on \u201cthe field\u201d over McCarthy as the Vikings\u2019 Week 1 starter.<br \/>\nBerry was told that by midseason, the Vikings had to scale the playbook back to accommodate McCarthy.\u00a0<br \/>\nHe hasn\u2019t heard Carr connected to Minnesota but he has heard Murray and Rodgers, who HC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/O\/OConKe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kevin O\u2019Connell<\/a> was interested in last year, along with Smith. Packers QB <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-football-reference.com\/players\/W\/WillMa12.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=nfltraderumors.co&amp;utm_campaign=2026-03-02_pfr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Malik Willis<\/a> is an outside option if he\u2019s not too expensive.
