I like volunteers. I don\u2019t like hostages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When asked whether marriage would feel like holding someone \u201chostage,\u201d the former Carolina Panthers player doubled down. \u201cI don\u2019t think it to be anything. I like volunteers, not hostages. And if I\u2019m the person that\u2019s bringing you happy, you can have marriage with no commitment. And you don\u2019t have to have marriage to have a commitment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Newton, who has been dating comedian Jasmin Brown, 36, since 2021, recently welcomed his ninth child with her in October 2025.
